Bagasse is a by-product of the sugar mill industry that is generated after the crushing of sugarcane. It is the fibrous residue left over after the extraction of the juice from sugarcane. Bagasse is used as a renewable source of energy in the sugar mill industry, and it is often burned in boilers to generate steam that is used in the sugar production process. It can also be used as a raw material for the production of paper, pulp, and board.
